First day of K-4

Our first day of homeschooling was great!!! Annie-Sarah had a really hard time going to sleep last night because she was so excited. At 10:00pm I finally had to go to her room and tell her that she needed to go to sleep or her brain would not have enough energy to learn new information today.

My plan this morning to get up at 5:45am, work out, have my quiet time, but  I do not even remember my alarm going off. :( I woke up at 7:00am and rushed around like a crazy lady trying to cook breakfast, get my quiet time in, and make sure I am ready and my kiddos were ready all before 8:00am. Let's just say that God stopped me and reminded me that this year is not about getting started on time or even finishing everything I have planned. This year is about pointing my kids to Christ and making His name famous at my home.

We kicked off our first day with Bible. We sent Annie-Sarah  on a mini treasure hunt. We gave her clues on where she could find it. We hid the treasure in the dryer(I know not very creative). She found it very quickly. The whole reason for the treasure hunt was to start the discussion on the fact that God's word is the great treasure that we have.
I have to say that our family has the cutest bible teacher(my hubby). The plan is that daddy will teach Bible before he goes to work. This morning Daniel was able to share with Annie-Sarah about the treasure that we have in God's word. I absolutely love this picture, it shows the excitement that Annie-Sarah has for God's word.

This picture and the one above is of Annie-Sarah decorating her Alphabet notebook for this school year. Every week or twice weekly we will be studying a new letter and she will practice writing the letter and decorate the letter and put it in this notebook.  This week we are talking about the letter "Ii"
We can not leave precious Katie-Beth out of this special day. I guess you could say that she started tot school today. She is learning how to play independently and use her manners more.

I am super excited about this homeschooling year!!!
